whoisthemonsterSo, first of all, I'd like to give a big hello to all my new friends from the DN Friendsing Meme! I thought since we're all fans of DN, this would be a good introduction. I found it on aru_keehl's journal, who found it on dA.
1. How did you first get into Death Note?
A friend of mine really liked it,and I thought it looked interesting so at her birthday party of 2008 I started reading some of her volumes...and didn't stop until her mom told me to go home. :P The rest, I believe, is history.
2. What was your first thought about it?
The first time I saw it in the bookstore (which was years before I actually read it) I thought it looked like an interesting read. I don't even remember what I thought when I actually started reading it. I think it was something along the lines of "This...is AWESOME! Oh, and Light's kind of crazy..."
3. Did the shinigami freak you out at first?
No. They were a surprise, but they didn't really scare me or anything.
4.How about the power of the Death Note?
Yeah, that creeped me out at first.
5.What do you think of...Raito?
He's got quite a lot of problems. And a God complex. And he's really crazy by the end of things. All in all, not a favourite of mine.
Ryuuzaki / L?
I love L. He's creepy sometimes, but he also has quirks that make you laugh and make him seem so cute! He's also insanely smart without being crazy like Light (that's right, I said he's insane without being crazy, it's possible XD).
Misa?
She can be very annoying some of the time. She doesn't really do much except whine about Light.
Matsuda?
I love Matsu! He's so sweet and funny! I simply adore everything he does/is.
Sayu?
I don't really think about Sayu much. She's Light's sister, and she seems nice enough but she doesn't really contribute to the story (except when she gets kidnapped by Mello, but that's more HIS contribution than hers).
Rem?
I love that she showed us not all Shinigami are uncaring about humans like Ryuk is. She may seem rather uncaring about what's going on around her, but she really does love Misa, which unfortunately leads to her demise.
Mello / Mero?
LOVE HIM! He's so angry all the time and that causes some people to dislike him, but he really is just a passionate person who wants nothing more than to stomp on Kira and become the next L. Not to mention, he's rather sexy for an imaginary character. ;)
Near / Nia?
I didn't like him much at first, but after some time, he's beginning to grow on me. He's very calculating and (seemingly) unfeeling. Basically the opposite of Mello. However, he is very bright and, let's face it, super cute which makes him awesome.
Do you think...
Raito is doing what's right for Japan?
Hell no.
That L's the rightful savior?
I don't think any one person could be the "rightful savior". However, L is definately better than Light, and if I had to choose one of them as our savior I would choose L.
That L is still alive?
Only in my dreams. (that's not creepy at all...)
That Misa is a little too obsessed with Raito?
Oh, totally. She needs to get over him.
That Mero / Mello is on crack?
No, just an excess of chocolate that causes him to act like a PMSing woman.
That Nia / Near is the right successor of L?
I don't think any of the Wammy boys could survive being L on their own. Near, Mello and Matt (yes, Matt's in there too) need each other in order to be truly successful.
That Matsu should stop hitting on Sayu?
Matsuda deserves someone to make him happy. If that person is Sayu, I say go for it. :)
That Mello is insane?
We're all a little insane. Mello just...expresses his insanity more than others.
That L is related to Nia and Mero?
Oh, hell no. That would be a tad creepy.
That Misa is annoying as hell?
Uh-huh.
That Raito sucks?
Kira sucks. When Light is Kira, he sucks by association.
That L is a little weird?
His wierdness is why I love him!
That the police should leave Kira alone?
No. They should all gang up on him at once. HE CAN'T KILL THEM ALL!
What do you think about WtF changing everyone's name to English?
If they're actually doing that...well...
Is Death Note getting boring now?
This story is too awesome to ever get old. <3
Characters / Favorites...
Favorite character?
I can only pick one? Then, L. *cough* and Mello *cough*
Favorite minor character?
Matt (and Matsuda, if he's considered minor).
Least favorite character?
I'm not a big fan of Halle actually.
Character that's useless?
Rester. Did he ever actually do anything except supply Near with toys?
Most interesting character?
Everyone from Wammy's. <3
Who is smarter: Raito or Ryuuzaki?
I think what makes the first arc so interesting is the fact that Light and L are true equals. The only reason Light could ever beat L was because he had the task force (who refused to believe he was Kira) and supernatural forces on his side.
Who is more clever: Mero or Nia?
They're both equally clever, however they're each clever in their own way. In a way their the same and yet different.
Favorite shinigami?
Gelus. His story always makes me sad. :(
Most insane character?
SAKUJO! Basically, Mikami. Or, if we count the novel, I'd say Beyond Birthday.
Most annoying?
Misa.
Favorite volume?
I don't think I have one. It's all so good.
Favorite scene?
Probably the scene in which Mello holds Near at gun point because he wants his picture back. It shows how badass Mello is and its just plain awesome.
Least favorite scene?
L/Matt/Mello's deaths. They all hit me pretty hard.
Who has the best wardrobe?
Matt, for sure. I want to own clothes like him. (I would say Mello too, but I've cosplayed him ,and leather pants aren't exactly comfortable. XD)
Who has the worst taste in clothes?
As much as I love L, I'm going to have to go with him. He's so awesome in every other way, I just wish he'd dress better.
Favorite quote?
This is where I wish I had my volumes in front of me. XD I'll come back to this once I get them back.
Favorite hairstyle?
Matt. His hair is dead sexy.
